RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been established by the Ras Al Khaimah Human Development Foundation (RAK–HDF) under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member & Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and, Chancellor of the University. RAK-HDF is a joint venture of Ras Al Khaimah Government, Al Ghurair Investments and ETA Ascon Group, Dubai.
All the programs viz MBBS, BDS, BPharm, BS Nursing and RNBSN have been granted Initial Licensure and Accreditation, by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE. While the RAK College of Medical Science (RAKCOMS) started its programs (MBBS) in 2006, the RAK College of Dental Science (RAKCODS), RAK College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RAKCOPS), RAK College of Nursing (RAKCONS) started their programs from September 2007. RAKMHSU is the first comprehensive University in the entire UAE. Yet another milestone has been added in the year 2011 by getting the accreditation for the Masters Programs in both Nursing and Pharmacy, again first in the country.
