HBMSU was established in 2002 as the first institution with an e-learning platform in the UAE, thanks to a strategic initiative with an aim to encourage the interest, uptake and application of TQM thinking in the Arab world through innovative, affordable and accessible means.

In its quest for fulfilling its mission and key objectives, the HBMSU has always believed in the concept of mutually-beneficial partnerships and collaboration. The university is today aligned with many well-known institutions including: University of California, Berkeley; Bradford University, St. Gallen University; U21Global; University of South Africa (UNISA); Australian Human Resource Institute; International Hospital Federation, University of Maryland University College (UMUC), Asia e-University. etc.
