General information

FOCUS: Complete community focus. Our readers are in the 18-35 years segment. This is a mostly young, well-educated and upwardly-mobile readership. Tempo’s readers are also multi-national and the majority have high discretionary income and are early technology adopters.

CONTENT: We strategically ‘advance’ events and focus on community stories, provide insight on issues and feature ‘people-news’. UAE has a huge expat population, mostly residing in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and our aim is to bring people together and celebrate our individuality and what we share as a community.

DISTRIBUTION: We distribute 40,000 copies to malls, coffee shops, hotels, residences and clinics. We also distribute UPTEMPO, an e-bulletin that goes out mid-month to 58,000 readers.

MOBILE TAGGING: Tempo incorporates mobile tagging and QR in the magazine. Indeed, on 1 June 2010, Tempo became the first magazine in the region to add mobile tagging technology to a magazine. This is significant as tagging achieves convergence between print, web and mobile phones. This is because a tag on a story or print ad can link to a video, a blog, an interview, coupon, website, etc. Mobile tagging also leverages the high penetration of mobile phones in UAE, which is the highest in the world. For our content partners and advertisers mobile tagging technology delivers greater brand activation and interaction opportunities with the target audience.
